Celebrating HealthCare Support Workers Day
A special awards ceremony was held on Thursday 23 November at St Mary’s Hospital to mark Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) Day 2023.
The event, sponsored by Trigghomes Estate Agents, who provided trophies, certificates, and vouchers of £2,500 for all 20 winners and runners up to celebrate the valuable contribution our HCSWs make to the Trust and the positive difference they make in caring for our patients and their families.
Managing Director Keith Trigg said "It’s an honour to support our NHS heroes who all do an amazing job in looking after the people on the Isle of Wight. To recognise these individuals is a very important way of saying thank you for all you do."
HCSWs are involved in a variety of setting across the NHS, working in roles such as maternity support, healthcare assistants and theatre assistants.
The event was also an opportunity for the Trust to recognise and thank all our support services including portering, estates and facilities, digital and others.
Juliet Pearce, Director of Nursing, Midwifery and AHPs said “Healthcare Support Workers Day is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and thank the invaluable contribution all of our support workers make. They are at the core of the NHS and we would not be able to provide high quality care to our patients and their families without them.”
