The latest lockdown announcement made by the Government this evening probably comes as little surprise given the headlines over the Christmas and New Year period. Amongst the many rules, regulations and instructions given tonight is a clear statement by the Government that the housing market remains open. This means that vendors and landlords can still put their properties on the market for sale and rent, viewings can still take place under carefully controlled protocols, solicitors and surveyors can continue to work and house moves can take place.
The latest Government Guidance updated today (4th January) is here if you would like to read the detail.
We have all learned a lot since the start of the pandemic way back in March 2020 - lessons we would rather not have learned. But what we have learned above all, is the best way to keep our clients and our staff safe during valuations, viewings and throughout the process of house moving and renting. We have the very latest cloud based technology, internet based telephone systems, live-chat, email, whats app plus laptops and tablets to help our local staff work from home when necessary. Together with a modern and clean office environment for when they need to be in the office we have always maintained a full 8am - 8pm service for clients and our intention is that we will continue to do so - throughout the current lockdown. When the housing market first re-opened in May 2020 we published our working practices on our website and you can read them here. It's a safety first approach and no short-cuts.
We will continue to do everything we can to keep looking after all our clients during this latest lockdown and keep their house sales and rentals on track. This will be especially important to many buyers and sellers given the stamp duty holiday deadline of 31st March 2021 which has not been extended.
Our staff will be on hand to support you, answer any questions and help resolve any worries you may have. Please feel free to contact us, especially if you are vulnerable or shielding, and we will do everything we can to help. This is a tough time for everyone, but you can rely on the whole team here at Trigg & Co to continue to do their very best to help you move safely.
With my kindest regards,
Keith
