  • OWNERS COMMENTS Boston House has been an amazing home for us and our kids. Close to both passenger and car ferries and in walking distance from Ryde it is perfectly positioned for those who might need to travel to the mainland for work, University or schools. We have invested substantially in the house, with a large, 'connected' garden office and PV cells on the roof. The PV cells produce a tax-free income of about £2,000 per annum, which will continue (automatically adjusted for inflation) for a further 18½ years. The cells also mean that in the summer you just turn the boiler off and your hot water is free from an immersion heater. To protect all the domestic appliances there is also a water softener, and anyone with sensitive skin will immediately notice the difference. The Close is a great place to live. Quiet, secure and very private. Living in an upside down house is different. Light streams in all year round in the living area, and the bedrooms are warm in winter and cooler in the summer. It is a very social house and garden. Great for entertaining, working from home or just living. Now the kids have flown the nest it's time for us to find something smaller. We will miss it, and the kids tell us they will miss it even more.
